A Port Richey man is accused of threatening two people with a pistol during a road rage incident on U.S. 19, authorities said.

Brandon Michael Sheehan, 19, was arrested Thursday for aggravated assault with a firearm.

Deputies said Sheehan began arguing with another motorist following a traffic incident on U.S. 19 at Ranch Road.

The victim told deputies Sheehan got out of his car and displayed a black handgun. He started pointing the gun at the victim and her passenger, then began waving it back and forth while yelling obscenities, the report states.  The driver said she could not drive away because Sheehan was standing in the roadway.

Both victims told detectives they were in fear for their lives and believed Sheehan would shoot them, according to deputies. Two others reportedly witnessed the incident.

Sheehan has a previous arrest for domestic battery by strangulation no/minor injuries. He was booked into the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center, where he’s being held without bond.
