A Pasco County business owner is facing several charges after deputies say he accepted money from customers for projects but didn’t do the work.
Corbin Reutimann, the 48-year-old owner of
Reutimann Fence Depot, is facing grand theft charges in connection with several different cases. An arrest report says the most recent case happened back in August when Reutimann accepted a $700 down payment from a customer. The check he received was cashed and was supposed to go toward materials for the job.
For several months, deputies say the victims tried to contact Reutimann but were given multiple excuses about why the work wasn’t done.
The arrest report says Reutimann never returned to the victims’ home to do the job and never gave any proof that the money he was given was used to buy materials. Reutimann later claimed he did purchase materials with the victims’ money but says they went missing, according to the arrest report.
In another case that took place back in June, deputies say Reutimann agreed to do a $2,000 fence project at a victim’s home. In that incident, he accepted a check for materials and was seen on bank surveillance cashing it. Deputies say Reutimann never returned to that home and never got in contact with the victim again.
Reutimann is also facing a charge in connection with an incident that happened back in March where deputies say he accepted a down payment of $10,000 to complete a fencing project and RV port at a home. Deputies say the check was cashed later that same day but no work was ever done.
When the victim tried to contact Reutimann, deputies say the suspect made several excuses about why the work couldn’t be done and refused to refund the victim. Reutimann later told deputies he was waiting for permits to be pulled for the project and didn’t refund the victim because he already bought the materials. Deputies say he couldn’t tell them where those materials were.
The arrest report states, “it should be noted (Reutimann) has a history of defrauding customers and multiple cases exist in this county.”
