Police say a suspect in Ohio has been arrested for making social media threats against schools in Pasco County.

New Port Richey police say they received several reports of threats made via Instagram on Tuesday.

They say the threats were to do harm and physical violence, and were directed at multiple schools throughout the New Port Richey area.

Investigators were able to identify and arrest the suspect shortly after he made the posts. Officers say he lived in Ohio and did not pose any immediate danger to local students.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and say additional charges are being considered.
