A Pasco County man is facing a child neglect charge after deputies say he overdosed while caring for two young girls.
According to an arrest report, 37-year-old Scott Duguette was caring for a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old on Friday night in Port Richey when he injected dilaudid and overdosed. Deputies say he had one of the children in his lap and dropped the girl when he fell over.
The 7-year-old child told deputies she ran outside because she was scared Duguette was dead, the arrest report says. Deputies say his neighbors had to give him two doses of Narcan to revive him.
Duguette later admitted to injecting dilaudid and smoking marijuana while taking care of the children, according to the arrest report. Deputies say he does not have a prescription for the medication and has overdosed on it before.
