Teen shot while selling marijuana, drives to Land O’ Lakes gym for help, deputies say

LAND O’LAKES, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies are investigating after they said a teen boy was shot near a Land O’ Lakes Tropical Smoothie late Wednesday night.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said it happened near State Route 54 and Livingston Road. The investigation showed two teenage boys, a 16 year old and 17 year old, were attempting to sell marijuana in a plaza parking lot when they were approached by two suspects.

The suspects were wearing ski masks, deputies said. Their age and identity is unknown.

PSO said the teens tried to drive away as a suspect shot at them. The 16 year old was shot and sustained minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The victims then drove to a Crunch Fitness near Collier Parkway as the suspects continued to shoot at them, according to deputies. They then went into the gym, said one of them was shot and asked for help.

Deputies said the the suspects drove away in what they believe to be a dark, older model 4-door Infiniti sedan, possibly an M45. They added the car has rear end damage and bungee cords holding the trunk lid closed.
