The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has released intense body camera footage showing the arrest of a meth suspect accused of biting a deputy as he was being apprehended. 

Dwayne Sheehan, 33, was arrested after a vehicle pursuit by deputies ended when the suspect hit a tree, a pole and a deputy’s vehicle on State Road 19 and Beacon Woods Drive in Bayonet Point early Wednesday morning, deputies said.

In the body camera footage released by the sheriff’s office, Sheehan is seen resisting deputies for several minutes, withstanding multiple shocks with a Taser in the process.

In the arrest report, Sheehan is accused of biting a deputies while on the ground before suffering a bite wound of his own from K9 Chris. 

Sheehan was taken to the hospital with injuries to his back and neck. 

He is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, battery against a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and aggravated fleeing to elude.

Additionally, the Florida Highway Patrol charged Sheehan with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, possession of cocaine, reckless driving with property damage and driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license.
