FOUND SAFE: 82-year-old Pasco man with dementia located

Authorities have canceled the statewide Silver Alert for 82-year-old Eugene Murphy from Pasco County.

Deputies say he was found safe in Perry, Florida.

A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing and endangered 82-year-old man from Pasco County.

Eugene Murphy left his home on Princeville Drive in San Antonio around 2 p.m. Sunday to get a newspaper from a nearby gas station but never returned. Deputies say he is diagnosed with dementia.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, his credit card was used at a Speedway gas station in Venice on Sunday and at a Shell station in Orlando on Monday morning.

Murphy is about 5’8″ with gray hair and blue eyes. He wears glasses and was last seen in a green shirt, khaki pants, loafers and white socks.

Authorities say he is driving his girlfriend’s light blue 2009 Hyundai Genesis. The license plate number is CWJU98.

Anyone who sees Murphy or the car is asked to call 911 immediately.
