Troopers have located the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian in Hudson dead Saturday night.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Bruin Drive, south of SR-52.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Austin Payne was driving north on Bruin Drive when he failed to notice a pedestrian walking along the road and hit him.

The pedestrian, identified as 29-year-old Christopher Ryan, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the crash, troopers say Payne left the scene and drove to his home on Echo Loop. Authorities located him and his vehicle shortly after.

According to the FHP report, alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Investigators are still trying to determine what happened and say charges are pending.
