Drive-by shooting victim’s mom wants death penalty for her son’s accused killer

One month to the day after Christian Robinson was shot just blocks from where he lives, his mother is struggling with her emotions.

“I am…living. I don’t know. Everything is still pretty much…I’m in shock.”

But, when it comes to the punishment she thinks her son’s killer should face, Tanya didn’t struggle at all when asked if the prosecutor should push for the death penalty.

“Of course…of course. He took my son’s life. He had a lot of life and a lot of dreams, and he took everything from him,” she said.

Tanya Robinson still wears her black ribbon emblazoned with “Justice for Christian.” She said that she’s now beginning to feel some emotions after the past month has been mostly a blur.

“It’s getting harder and harder, definitely,” said Robinson. “Especially knowing that the guy lived 89 steps away from me, and was just hiding in plain sight.”

Steven Marin was arrested and charged with Christian’s murder on Monday. Tanya says she plans to be at every court hearing or bond proceeding.

“I’m glad he’s off the streets and can’t hurt anyone else’s child,” said Robinson. “So I’m glad, but this isn’t justice. This is a checkmark off the list of a long road to go for my family and my children.”

Marin is currently being held in the Pasco County Detention Center on no bond.
