A Pasco County woman is facing charges after deputies say she tried to hit her boyfriend with her car while he was walking on a sidewalk.

Chaneise Culp, 52, was arrested late Sunday night in Port Richey.

According to deputies, Culp was driving behind her boyfriend as he was walking down the sidewalk when the incident happened. The arrest report says the victim told deputies Culp swerved her vehicle toward him and drove up on the sidewalk, trying to hit him.

The victim said he was able to jump out of the way before he was hit, but told deputies he feared Culp was going to run him over and severely injure or kill him.

The arrest report says Culp later admitted to deputies that she swerved her vehicle toward the victim “because she wanted to scare him.”

Culp was arrested for domestic aggravated assault and taken to the Pasco County Jail.
