Body Camera Footage: Train collides with van after crash involving deputy

A Pasco County woman has been cited after a crash involving a deputy. That crash then led to a train collision.

“There’s a train coming! there’s a train coming!”

You can hear a Pasco deputy yelling from his cruiser at another deputy and the woman involved.

Body camera footage then shows a deputy try to flag down the train’s conductor to no avail.

This all happened on State Road 575 in Lacoochie.

According to troopers, Miranda Musso lost control on a curve and hit a Pasco deputy’s patrol car. The body camera footage is from a second deputy’s camera, who arrived on scene to help.

“See if you can pull off the road. I just don’t want you on the train track, okay?” the deputy can be heard telling the woman minutes before the train collision.

Musso can be heard for several minutes trying to start the vehicle and eventually gets out and leaves the van partially on the train track.

“This is not going to be good, let’s get back a little further,” the deputy can be heard saying.

You can’t see the impact but video shows the aftermath.

The van is pushed back from the tracks and has some additional front end damage.

Luckily no one was in the van and no one was seriously hurt.

“Fortunately for us, no one else was involved in the accident, and no one else was hurt,” Pasco County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Kevin Doll told WFLA.

“Our deputy did have to go to the hospital for a minor arm injury from the initial accident but he’s doing okay,” Doll said.

Musso was cited for crashing into the deputy.
