Beloved Pasco charity center suffers major damage in overnight fire

HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — A community resource center in Pasco County, known and loved for its charitable donations, suffered a big loss in an overnight fire.

The fire struck the ACTS Community Resource Center on US 19 in Hudson Wednesday morning. ACTS stands for Abundant Commodities To Share. This resource center has been here for 10 years helping hundreds of people.

“We feed 75-100 people daily which consists of elderly, homeless, and people just down on their luck passing through,” said Director, Don Kolb.

In addition to being a food pantry, ACTS gave out shoes, clothes, and anything else for people in need.

ACTS recently served 700-900 people on Thanksgiving and they are set to do the same for Christmas. However, those in charge on the center tell 8 On Your Side that they will need help replacing items they lost in the fire like paper goods, etc.

“I ask that people pray for us and we will see what the lord has for us in store,” added Kolb.
