NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) – It looks like Hurricane Hermine brought some good luck to a Tampa Bay area resident.

Hollie Lyle Jr., 56, of North Port, won $1 million playing a scratch off game.

Lyle said he bought the Scratch-Off ticket on Friday during the storm, and couldn’t believe what he saw when he scratched it.

“I was in complete shock; I’m still in shock. It’s very surreal!” he told lottery officials.RELATED: Purchaser of $10 million Lutz lottery ticket comes forward

Lyle said he’s going to use some of his winnings to take his wife on a trip that they have been planning for years, according to a Florida Lottery news release.

“I’m going to keep working – I like what I do and I like who I work for – but I am going to take a couple of months off this spring so that my wife and I can hike the Appalachian Trail,” he said.

Lottery officials say Lyle bought the winning ticket at Petro Shop located at 3951 Clark Rd. in Sarasota.
