SYRACUSE, NY (WFLA/WSYR) – Some marriage proposals are romantic.
Others are funny.
But this one… may be the corniest in history!
“Travis just makes me wake up each day wanting to be the best possible version of myself for him,” Allie Randall.
Travis Drexler and Allie Randall met a year ago at Allie’s brother’s party.
“We grew up three miles apart, never knew each other, and my mother found Travis at the party and walked up to him and said ‘Are you single?'” Randall said.
“Oh boy. Okay. I’m up for that. I don’t even know why I was so caught up on her from day one, but it was just like I spent four months trying to get that first day and then from there it was just like boom, it clicked,” said Drexler.
Drexler said he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Randall back in January.
“I got to thinking about her and the corn maze and say well why don’t we just do ‘Allie, will you marry me.’ I lost sleep over it. Then what if I forget a letter, like ‘Allie will you mary me.’ That’d be a little weird.”
Drexler had the entire maze mapped out on graph paper, using the rows of corn as a guide.
Thankfully, he didn’t forget a letter.
When he showed Randall the drone picture, she of course, said yes.
“I think I had to read it about five or six times before I realized ‘holy cow I’m the Allie that’s in that picture,’” Randall said.
“Oh it was instant tears. It was a combination between laughing and eventually crying and then I thought, ‘well gee I probably should answer his question and not leave him hanging.’”
They will soon take on the maze of life together as husband and wife.
Kind of corny, right?
