TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Carnival Cruise ship saved two men after their boat sank in the Gulf of Mexico Monday.

The Carnival Cruise Line said the Carnival Jubilee was on its journey along the coast of Isla Mujeres when it spotted two men stranded in a kayak.

The men told the crew of the Jubilee that their boat sank, forcing them to use a kayak to stay afloat.

After giving the men medical care and food, the Jubilee’s crew alerted the Mexican Navy, who later accepted the stranded men for a rescue.

Afterward, it made it’s way to Mahogany Bay in Roatan Tuesday.
