HUDSON BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) – A monkey was reportedly sighted near Hudson Beach, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The reports of the rhesus macaque were provided to the FWC by the local residents.
FWC officials are asking everybody who sees the animal to call them with the sighting information. Officials hope to be able to capture it peacefully.
The macaques are not native to Florida. The very first macaque was located in Florida in 1930. It had escaped from a tourist attraction.MORE:

FWC officers don’t have the information yet how this monkey ended up in Hudson Beach area.
FWC reminded to secure your trash to avoid attracting the monkey. Please do not approach of feed it, it can cause serious harm, officers said.
