(WHAG) – A child’s dream came true for two sisters in Morgan County, West Virginia on Tuesday after the pair received a letter back that they had sent off floating in a bottle 27 years ago.
A couple on a fishing trip stumbled on the letter still sealed and dry and took to Facebook to find its owners.
“As soon as I opened Facebook, I recognized my handwriting as a child, so it was a little odd at first and then when I realized, then it was really exciting, you know. So I wanted to definitely get a hold of whoever had the letter,” said Tabitha Wolford, one of the sisters who had sent the letter off 27 years ago.
The sisters say that at the time they put the message in the bottle they were looking for pen pals, a connection they were finally able to make.
