WOOD COUNTY, OH (WCMH) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it found drugs worth more than $300,000 wrapped like Christmas presents during a traffic stop.
The patrol says a trooper pulled over a vehicle for following too closely.
Troopers say a probable cause search revealed 71 pounds of marijuana, 360 THC pills and a pound of hash wax oil wrapped like Christmas presents in the back of the vehicle.
The driver, Daniel A. Yates, 31, of Eureka, Calf, was taken to the Wood County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in drugs, both second-degree felonies.
If convicted, he could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
