UPDATE: U.S. Marshals arrested Steve Evans Friday, May 20, in Las Vegas. The shooting occurred overnight on May 13.
PREVIOUS STORY: BRANDON, FL (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was fatally shot overnight at a hookah lounge in Brandon.
Detectives say 24-year-old David Allen Smith was shot just around 1:10 a.m. at the Taiga Lounge located at 10315 Causeway Blvd in Brandon.
Colonel Donna Lusczynski says Smith was shot at least once following a physical altercation with an unidentified black male at the bar. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.
Lusczynski says the suspect then fled in an unknown make and model gray vehicle.
Detectives are on scene now continuing their investigation, interviewing patrons, and reviewing surveillance from the club.
