Search on for owner of lost dog who was hit by car

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – The search is on for the owner(s) of a dog that was struck by a car in Homosassa Friday night.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said the male Brindle mix was hit by a vehicle near the Nissan, Chevrolet and Harley dealerships on Highway 19. The animal has significant injuries, deputies said.

The dog is now in the care of the Citrus County animal shelter.
