Salvation Army to open cold weather shelter in Citrus County on Tuesday

The Salvation Army is opening a cold weather shelter in Citrus County on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Ruskin, Tuesday’s low is expected at 36 degrees and Wednesday’s low is expected at 34 degrees.

The Salvation Army will open the shelter at 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

The shelter is located at 712 S. School Avenue in Lecanto.

Anyone seeking shelter from the cold weather can go to any Citrus County bus stop at the last pickup time to be dropped off at The Salvation Army at no cost. 

The person will be picked up at The Salvation Army the following morning and taken back to the same area.
