Roger Stone, a longtime associate of President Donald Trump, is in the Tampa Bay area for an event aimed at raising money for his defense fund.

Adam Soto was at Tampa International Airport when Stone arrived on Tuesday. In a video Soto recorded of the arrival, Stone says he’s in town for a speech at a sports bar in Clearwater.

“I’m speaking to the Trump group and raising money for StoneDefenseFund.com,” Stone said.

When asked if he has been to Tampa before, Stone says, “I have, I love it here.”

In the video, Stone says he’s being picked up from the airport by Bubba the Love Sponge and calls the Tampa radio personality a “good friend.” Bubba is seen later in the video loading Stone’s luggage into his car trunk.

Both Bubba and Stone then plug the Stone Defense Fund website. The website was set up after Stone was arrested in January. Stone has pleaded not guilty to charges that he lied to Congress, engaged in witness tampering and obstructed a congressional investigation into possible coordination between Russia and Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Bubba the Love Sponge later posted a photo on Facebook of himself and Stone having lunch at World of Beer.

Stone is expected to be at Mugs Sports Bar and Grill in Clearwater from 6 to 10 p.m.
