Neighbors left wondering who killed 3 people and 3 dogs in Tarpon Springs home

Tarpon Springs police spent hours inside a home on Juanita Way after finding three dead adults and three dead dogs there on New Year’s Day.

A family member called police when they were not able to contact the people who lived there.

Police are not identifying the victims until they are positively identified by the medical examiner.

Tarpon Springs Major Jeff Young says he does not believe people in the area have anything to fear.

“Right now it’s in the early stages of the investigation, but all evidence does point towards the fact that the victims did know the suspect or suspects in this case,” said Young.

Many who live nearby say they didn’t know the people who live in the home very well because they moved in just eight months ago.

“They had three dogs and the lady would come out and walk the dogs and they would jump and bark and everything and I only saw the older gentleman maybe once,” said neighbor Joe McGinley.

People who live close to the home have been joking recently about a hole dug close to the murder scene.

“Then we were kidding about the hole over there, we’d walk over and say ‘Look, it’s a grave,’ jokingly with other neighbors,” said McGinley.

The joking happened before the bodies were discovered. The talk now in the neighborhood has been much more serious.

A woman who lives across the street says she does know the people in the home.

“It’s so sad because they had just moved into them a new home, a new community and she was meeting a lot of new friends around here. She was just a very gentle, kind person,” said a woman who did not want to give her name.

Now the neighbors are just wondering who killed the people inside the home on Juanita Way and why.
