BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A third employee involved with tying up a nonverbal 7-year-old boy to a chair at G.D. Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary earlier this month has been arrested.

On Thursday, Bradenton police arrested Hydalmy Ortiz, 41, who is a teacher’s aide at the school.

Ortiz joins Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher Carina Chindamo, 31, who was arrested on Feb. 6, and teacher’s aide Taylor Internicola, 39, who was arrested on Feb. 9.

The investigation began on Feb. 5 when security footage at the school caught teachers tying the boy’s wrists with a nylon walking rope and attaching the rope to a chair on the playground. They would then take turns sitting on the chair, using their weight to keep the child secured.

Police said the boy was restrained for nearly an hour.

All three women are charged with false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13.
