MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Three people were killed in a crash involving a dump truck on Monday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the dump truck and an SUV crashed at the intersection of County Road 675 and Jim Davis Road in Parrish.

Troopers said the dump truck was traveling west on County Road 675 and the SUV was traveling east. Both vehicles were entering a curve in a road when the dump truck drifted onto the north shoulder.

Troopers said the dump truck driver overcorrected left, crossed the roadway in front of the SUV and entered the south shoulder.

The 71-year-old SUV driver swerved right in an attempt to avoid and entered the shoulder. Troopers said the dump truck then collided with the front of the SUV.
