HERNANDO BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman is in custody after allegedly shooting a man and barricading herself inside a Hernando Beach home with two small children.
Just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said deputies surrounded a home near Flounder Dr. and Flamingo Blvd.
A HCSO spokesperson said a woman was barricaded inside the home after allegedly shooting her male “domestic partner.” The shooting victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.
SWAT and crisis negotiators attempted to get the woman to leave the home, the HCSO spokesperson said. When they entered the home, deputies found the woman and two small children.
The woman was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. The children were not harmed in the incident.
