A Hernando County man is facing a disorderly intoxication charge after deputies say he exposed himself at a bar then started a fight.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened Saturday at the Opinions Lounge on Cortez Boulevard.
Deputies responded to the bar for a physical disturbance and found out 41-year-old Daniel Carter had exposed his penis to a group of men and women. According to an arrest report, Carter was “highly intoxicated” when it happened.
The arrest report says Carter was then confronted by the brother of one of the women, who told him, “If you ever disrespect my sister again, there will be problems.”
Deputies say Carter followed the man outside after the confrontation and started a fight with him. The fight was eventually broken up by bouncers at the bar.
The deputy who responded to the scene said Carter was acting belligerent during the investigation and refused to listen when he was told to back away.
Carter was arrested and taken to the Hernando County Jail. During the ride to the jail, the arresting deputy said Carter “continued his aggressive behavior” by screaming and banging his head on the window.
