According to the CDC, Florida is one of the states where flu is widespread. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital has reported that their flu numbers have quadrupled recently.

Strep throat is also continuing to make the rounds, and Dr. Lou Romig with After Hours Pediatrics says the majority of the sore throats they are seeing are viral.

Hand, foot and mouth disease is still around but isn’t as prevalent as it was in the Fall.

Dr. Romig has also been seeing a lot of kids who’ve been sick for more than two weeks who meet the criteria for getting antibiotics for a bacterial sinus infection.

Doctors remind people that it is not too late to get a flu shot.
