Flood maps changing in Hillsborough County

Flood maps in Hillsborough County are changing, and it will impact many homes, properties and businesses.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Hillsborough County are hosting several open house informative meetings about the changes and they encourage residents to learn about the changes to FEMA’s coastal flood maps.

FEMA has released preliminary flood map updates for the coastal areas of Hillsborough County based on improved data and technology reflecting new development and changes to the shoreline over the past 30 years.
