TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Elton John will be coming to Tampa for his final tour before retiring from the road.

The 70-year-old artist made the announcement on Wednesday saying, “It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life.”

His final tour, the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour will span three years, wrapping up in 2021.

The tour stops at AMALIE Arena on Nov. 28, 2018.

“Performing live fuels me and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe,” John said. “I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour. After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”

John has sold 300 million records and has won five Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Tony Award and a Kennedy Center Honor.

Tickets for his Tampa concert go on sale Friday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. More information is available on AMALIE Arena’s website.
