Don Omar to headline Fiesta Maxima at USF on Cinco de Mayo

It’s an event that will fill the Yeungling center on USF campus with thousands of people singing and dancing. Fiesta Maxima falls this year on Cinco de Mayo with headliner, Don Omar.

This is an artist who sells out stadiums worldwide. Some of his biggest hits include Danza Kuduro, Taboo, Hasta Que Salga el Sol, and many more.

This is the 8th year for the event. Past Fiesta Maxima’s have included artists like Daddy Yankee, Carlos Vives, Romeo Santos, and Prince Royce.

With upwards of 6,000 people attending concert every year DJ’s at 92.1 Maxima say this is a big deal for Tampa Bay.

“Don Omar is a pretty big-ticketed artist. Most of the time, those artists prefer to go to Miami and Orlando, but this time around he’s coming to the Tampa Bay area. Do you know how big of a deal that is? It’s going to be something amazing for the Hispanic community that I’m sure everyone is going to love,” says Martica Lopez from 92.1 Maxima.

This year,  Don Omar is working with his fans to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The funds brought in by those who purchase meet and greet passes will go to the hospital. It’s not only his music but his spirit of giving that has fans saying Vamos Tampa Bay!
