File this one under “how low can you go?” Somebody made off with a trailer belonging to the Tabernacle of Tampa Bay church.

Pastor Scott Rodriguez said his mother, out working on the front yard Wednesday morning, noticed the trailer missing.

“Said, ‘hey Scott, where’s the trailer?’ And I said, ‘well, that’s a good question,’” said Pastor Rodriguez.

You can’t miss it. It’s big and white with the name of the church on the side.

“It had a bunch of boxes of Bibles. A bunch of gospel tracks that we used in Washington D.C., other U.S. cities, here locally,” said Rodriguez.

Some sound equipment, a total value of about $13,000, was also in the trailer.

This small church has about 140 members, who gather Wednesdays and Sundays in a former retail storefront.

“I’m actually not that upset about it because I’m hoping the guys who stole it open it up, find the Bibles and read it,” said the Pastor.

Pinellas County deputies are looking for the stolen trailer, which had been moved from the back of the church on Easter to make room for parking.

A church member is shocked somebody would take it.

“The way I figure it is, that’s kind of the lowest of low kind of people that would come along and take a trailer from, knowing on the whole side of the trailer, it’s part of a church,” said Jim Flynn.

Pastor Rodriguez has an idea.

“Maybe they’ll pull it back in, get saved and start coming to church with us,” he said.

The pastor said he spent spent 9 years in prison for doing a lot worse than stealing a trailer. So he’s ready to forgive the thieves, but he’d sure like his trailer back.
