TAMPA (WFLA) – Two-year-old Harper Comparin, who has spina bifida is taking one step forward thanks to sounds of ‘Baby Shark.’

The toddler is currently being treated at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg for spina bifida which is a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord don’t form properly according to the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Michelle Schultz, at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital wanted to find a way to help Harper get comfortable with her while undergoing treatment. “We became friends quickly,” Schultz said, “We worked on a bench for many months building up her confidence just to take those first steps.”

The “Baby Shark” song produced by the South Korean children’s educational brand, Pink Fong, has over 2 million views on Youtube.

“They were not pretty steps, they were pretty sloppy but they were the prettiest steps I have ever seen,” Harper’s mother Erica Comparin said. “She shouldn’t have the ability to do what she does…I think she will change the world personally.
