Anna Maria Elementary School will be closed on Wednesday.
“Due to rising water levels associated with Hurricane Michael, and the uncertainties surrounding additional street flooding due to rains or storm surge, Anna Maria Elementary will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10, 2018,” an email from the School District of Manatee County said Tuesday.
There will also be no school bus transportation for island students who attend other schools on the mainland.
Any student who misses school as a result of the decision will rescued an excused absence for the day.
