TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — Getting out the door fast and looking fresh throughout the day; Makeup artist Tamara Crowe, of Eyes on You Salon and Spa, says the first trick is one that many women skip, and that is using a primer.
“A lot of women like their name brands, but something at the drugstore could work just as great,” said Crowe.
Crowe points out that primer helps your makeup last and look smoother.
She also believes you only need five brushes in your arsenal: A fluffy powder brush, an angled blush brush, a flat foundation brush, and two eye brushes. One for contouring the other for blending.
“For the eyes I like one pigment brush that’s flat, and the fluffy brush will smooth everything out,” Crowe explained.
A hack for tired eyes is to use a light mat color near the brow, that draws attention up. Save the frosty lighter eye colors for the inner corner of your eye. “That will open the eye,” said Crowe.
As for eyeliner, Crowe suggests looking for winged-eye tutorials online, but you might need to find ways to steady your hand before trying the trendy look. Some bloggers show using a spoon or tweezers to get the perfect lines.
Crowe went on to say you don’t always need lipstick. Your liner can be used to draw a line and then ombre the color into your lips and just dab on some gloss.
The hottest hack around is eyelash extensions, but Crowe warns you have to do your research and make sure whoever is applying them, knows what they’re doing.
