KEY WEST, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s no secret that Florida is known for its wacky news stories. Here’s another one to add to the collection.
Emergency crews in Key West made a most unusual rescue after a woman became stuck inside a banyan tree.
The Key West Police Department posted a photo to its Facebook page showing the woman stuck in the many above-ground roots of the tree.
Police had a sense of humor about the unusual predicament and captioned the photo with the following:
“Key West Police Officer Scott Standerwick and Fire and Rescue helped this local woman who got herself stuck in a giant banyan tree. Protect and serve!”
