MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Manatee County mosquito control crews found human skeletal remains in the woods Wednesday.

The two employees were behind the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Port Manatee, when they made the discovery. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating.

Officials said they don’t know how long the remains had been in the woods. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy. Additional information will be released after that autopsy, deputies said.
