UPDATE: Northbound I-75 has reopened following a large crash that happened Monday morning. The road reopened around 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.Details of the crash below.


BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — If you drive northbound Interstate 75 in Bradenton, you might want to find an alternate route.

The northbound lanes will remain closed through Monday evening after two semis and three passenger vehicles were involved in a crash at 11:30 a.m.

Investigators say a sixth vehicle was also involved in the crash. The black pickup truck was weaving in and out of traffic and cut off one of the semis. The semi tried to avoid a crash, but was unsuccessful.

The crash happened at mile marker 217 in Bradenton. Traffic is being diverted to SR 70 at mile marker 213.

The Florida Highway Patrol said on Monday afternoon that the northbound lanes will remain closed until midnight
