PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Pasco County is reporting $89 million in damages following Hurricane Hermine.
County officials announced the damage total on Wednesday. Pasco County crews documented 2,672 homes and properties impacted by the storm.
According to county officials, 796 homes were affected by the storm but didn’t suffer any damage.
Another 1,564 homes suffered minor damage with flood water up the electrical sockets.

The county reports 305 homes with major damage and seven homes were destroyed by the storm.
350 county workers assisted in conducting human needs and property damage assessments. The information from the damage assessment reports will be used to file for federal assistance.
Flood victims talked with News Channel 8 Wednesday about the damage. Dan McDonald is a maintenance man. High waters ruined his tools.
“Everything’s shot now man, you know, because of the water,” McDonald said. “What can you do, man? I’ve been here six years, and this is probably five or six times this has happened. And nobody ever helps us. Two years ago when this happened, I got like six inches of water in my trailer.”
Flood victim Stacy Vest lives in the same area as McDonald, at the Blue Heron Mobile Home Park. She suffered minor damage to her trailer and to a sentimental statue.
“Oh, I lost my cat, outside a statue my grandmother left me when she died. It got a little damaged, but other than that, nothing else. The ceiling, but all that can be fixed and I’m alive,” Vest said.
