HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A Tampa Bay area teacher was arrested for trying to commit a sexual act with a minor and using a cell phone to communicate with his victim, Hillsborough deputies said.

Timothy Sean Falls, Jr., 29, was a teacher with the Hillsborough County School District. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, between June 11 and June 13 Falls started communicating with a 17-year-old using KiK and Facebook on his phone. Detectives said their conversations were sexually explicit.

Falls tried to set up a meeting with the victim telling her that he would be home alone on weekdays in summer. He tried to arrange to have sex with her but they never did.

When detectives met up and talked to him, he admitted to starting the conversations with her and trying to talk her into having sex with him. He was arrested in Marion County.

Falls was charged with Solicitation to Commit an Unlawful Sexual Act With a Minor and Use of an Electronic Device to Solicit/Entice/Lure a Minor.

Hillsborough detectives haven’t released any information on when he may be transferred to Hillsborough.
