HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – On the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections website, there’s a list of early voting locations. There are colors next to the locations.
If it’s green, that means go. The wait times are only 0-15 minutes.
Yellow means wait times between 15 and 60 minutes, while red means the wait times are more than an hour.
“What we’re seeing is that it’s been building starting around a little before lunchtime and on through the afternoon. But we haven’t had a lot wait at all,” said Craig Latimer, Hillsborough County supervisor of elections.
Latimer said people can make the process as efficient as possible by bringing the right things, including the right ID. That includes one with a signature and photo, such as a Florida driver’s license or Florida ID card.
Early voting has proven to be a big hit with Hillsborough County voters. Roughly 180,000 people have voted early so far.
“People are taking advantage of early voting, which is great you know. We want people spread out across all three methods of voting,” Latimer said.
If you are planning to mail in a ballot and haven’t done so already, the supervisor suggests dropping it off.
“I would urge them to drop that at one of our four locations or they can drop it at an early vote site through Sunday. They cannot drop it at a polling site on Tuesday on Election Day because it has to be in my office by 7 p.m.,” Latimer said.
