Hillsborough Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a woman after a deputy was dragged 20 feet during a traffic stop in Riverview early Saturday morning.

At about 12:30 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of US Highway 301 South and Tom Road.

When the driver, Amber Griffin, 29, refused to get out of the car, the deputy tried to remove her from the vehicle. That’s when Griffin began to accelerate and sped off with the deputy partially inside the car, authorities said.

The deputy was dragged approximately 20 feet and cut his hand, according to the sheriff’s office.

Griffin still remains at large and is believed to be driving a 2018 silver Kia Rio with the Florida tag PI229A.

Griffin is described as a 5 feet 1 inch white female, weighing 140-150 lbs. She has hazel eyes and a tattoo on the right side of her chest, detectives said.

Those with information on her whereabouts should call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.  To be eligible for a cash reward, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
