The driver, who crashed a truck into a Carrollwood home, is still on the loose.

A neighbor, Rodolfo Coste, tells News Channel 8 he saw the driver run from the scene on Pepperfield Drive in Hillsborough County. He heard the crash and, when he saw the truck in the house, he rushed across the street.

“I hear the voice, ‘Help, help, help, help!’ but I didn’t see anything,” says Coste.

The darkness made it difficult for Coste to move through the mess.

“I was walking on the glass. ‘Help, help, help!’ I was like crazy looking for the woman,” Coste tells us.

71-year-old Sheila McCaffrey and her dog were pinned under the Chevy Silverado. Coste called his roommate, Carmelo Santiago.

“I said, ‘Oh my god! There is somebody. What about the driver?’ No, there is no driver there so I called 911,” Santiago tells us.

It took rescue crews more than 30 minutes to free McCaffrey and her dog. She is currently in critical condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Meanwhile, her dog is doing well. Her family declined our request for a comment.

You can see the headlights, possibly belonging to the truck, in surveillance video taken from another home in the neighborhood. The video had been recorded at the time of the crash. Coste says he saw the suspected driver.

“I say, ‘Are you alright?’ He don’t talk. He don’t talk anything and he left,” says Coste.

Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office would like to speak to Robert Siders III. They think he can provide them with additional information as they continue their search for the driver.

“That person, that person don’t care about life,” says Coste.

We actually spoke to Robert Sider’s sister on the phone. She says he called her on Saturday night to tell her he is sorry and he did not know if he hurt anybody. He was crying. She encouraged him to turn himself over to the investigators but she has not heard from him since that phone call.
