Attorneys will be in court today to represent two teens accused in a speed racing crash on Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa that killed a mom and her little girl who were out for a walk.
Cameron Herrin and John Barrineau were arrested in May after speeding down the scenic road.
Jessica Raubenolt, 24, and her daughter, Lillia, who was just 21 months old, were visiting from Ohio. They were crossing the road when they were struck by Herrin’s Ford Mustang.
Court paperwork shows the vehicles were traveling at speeds up to 102 miles an hour.
Herrin’s brother, Tristan, was in the car at the time of the crash.
Earlier this week, a judge allowed his attorney more time to review evidence in the case.
“We’re in the infancy of our discovery process in this case. There’s about 520 pages of an original report,” attorney Brian Gonzalez said.
The material includes thousands of pages of evidence, according to Gonzalez.
Both Herrin and Barrineau waived their appearance in court, meaning their attorneys will show up at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and speak on their behalf.
