A Social Studies teacher at Spoto High School in Riverview resigned from his position after school and district leaders learned he left test material posted on the walls of his classroom.
District officials gathered student statements after the allegation came to light.
“Mr. Anderson left posters up in his classroom that were given answers on the semester exam,” one student said in a statement to the school district.
The ex-teacher’s file contains at least three other letters explaining the issue.
“I noticed that they were placed in position in the classroom to where they were visible to a student’s view,” another student wrote about the posters.

When asked, Anderson mentioned that he didn’t think the semester 1 U.S. History exam “was a big deal,” district documents show.
“People who actually do study and actually do take their time on their day, and read their books, I do think it’s unfair to them,” said Brian Brown, a Hillsborough County resident and former student in the district.
School leaders noticed higher than normal scores for the test and opened an investigation, documents show.
Anderson resigned in early May.
A district spokeswoman sent the following statement to News Channel 8:
Testing is an important way to gauge student learning. We take that seriously because it helps us make sure we are supporting students in the best way possible. This was an isolated issue with one teacher who has since resigned from the district. Any allegation that tests were not done properly are thoroughly investigated by our district.
News Channel 8 tried to contact Anderson for a comment, but couldn’t get a hold of him.
