Tampa Police need your help identifying a man who shot a person trying to break up an assault at a 7-Eleven.
It happened in 1900 block of North Dale Mabry Highway just after 2 A.M. on February 2nd, the victim told police they witnessed an unknow male assaulting a female in red pickup truck in the parking lot.
When victim attempted to intervene, the suspect approached them and tried to punch him, but missed as the fighting continued the victim punched the suspect in self-defense. The suspect then proceeded to go to his truck and shot the victim in the shoulder before fleeing the scene in a red, newer model Ford pickup truck.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30-40 years of age, heavy set, 5-7-5’9 and last seen wearing a dark t-shirt and blue jeans. The unidentified female is described to be in her 20’s, approximately 5′ with straight blonde or light brown hair.
Detectives are concerned for the safety of the unidentified female and are attempting to locate her as well as identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-TIPS.
