Long lines are expected all day and all week at Tampa International Airport.

Getting through those lines can either be smooth or tricky.

Officials with the Transportation Security Administration expect a 5 to 6 percent increase in passengers traveling this Thanksgiving over 2017.

AAA projects 4.27 million people will fly throughout the U.S. this week, making it one of the busiest  in a decade.

That means people will need to be more patient.

Some airports will have additional staff at checkpoints.

New x-ray technology will be unveiled in various cities as well, along with new conveyer belt technology, to make skies safer.
