The Straz Center is warning people about scammers who are trying to sell fake tickets to the blockbuster musical “Hamilton.”
Performances of Hamilton are scheduled at Straz Center from Feb. 12 to March 10, 2019.
The Straz has attracted thousands of new subscribers since announcing the Hamilton run. The Straz does not know when single tickets for the musical will go on sale, “because the show hasn’t told us yet,” said the Straz on its blog. https://thestrazcenter.wordpress.com/2018/08/07/and-now-a-few-words-about-hamilton-tickets/
If you want to buy tickets, beware of online scammers. “… unauthorized ticket brokers/scalpers are already setting up websites with fake tickets hoping to get the single ticket buyer to pay astronomical prices for tickets that may or may not even exist,” said the Straz on its blog.
The Straz offers these suggestions if you want to buy tickets to Hamilton:
1. Only buy from StrazCenter.org, from someone at the Straz ticket office, or by calling (813) 229-7827
2. Straz is the authorized source to sell tickets. The Straz is waiting to find out the on-sale date from the show’s producers. The on-sale date is guarded to protect the public from scalpers and brokers.
3. If you end up buying fake tickets, the Straz will not be able refund, or replace them.
