The accident happened on Dale Mabry Highway and Waters Avenue shortly before 7 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Prius had the green light when they traveled through the intersection and hit a 66-year-old man who crossed her path.
Troopers say the man was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where they later died. His name was not released.
Charges are pending, according to the report.
