New video obtained by News Channel 8 shows a person who could be the suspected Seminole Heights serial killer walking down a street yelling odd noises days after the fourth and final murder.
Karen Clay, the woman who gave the footage to investigators and News Channel 8 said Tampa police officers told her the man in the video was the suspect.
Investigators said they aren’t able to confirm anything about the footage and that they have hour and hours of footage to review.
The man in the video could be seen walking near 15th Street and Frierson Ave. on a night in mid-November. He could be heard yelling out sounds as he walked.
Clay’s surveillance camera captured the footage.
“He talks to himself and other people said the same thing. We heard him go, “ha, ha, ha, and walked on,” Clay said.
She’s convinced it was Howell Donaldson III, the man accused of killing four people in Clay’s neighborhood. She said officers told her it was him when they picked up the video in November.
Clay said investigators were going door to door one Saturday night asking for video footage days following the fourth murder.
Investigators didn’t make her video public but they did release other clips they believed showed Donaldson in the area around the time of the murders.
State prosecutors recently gave Donaldson’s attorneys more than 1 terabyte of video footage and 30,000 pages of evidence.
Donaldson’s mental health evaluation set for Friday has been postponed. His attorneys asked the judge to allow them to seek opinion from two more psychiatrists. Their findings are expected to be presented at the end of July.
